May is Electrical Safety Month: OVERHEAD POWER LINE DANGERS

Overhead power lines are deadly occupational hazards for many industries - agriculture, construction, and more. ALWAYS be aware of what is in the area you are working in before you start, deenergize nearby lines if doing electrical work if at all possible or maintain procedures to avoid contact. Overhead power lines are typically not insulated, and contact with anything from a tree saw to a paint roller to a fence post can kill or injure in a split second. Operators of booms, lifts, dump trucks and other vehicles and equipment must remain observant at all times, having spotters to signal is always a good idea. High power line injuries cause are some of the most serious ‪#‎electricalinjuries‬ seen.
